Pearl Harbor is one of my favorite movies, every time I watch it I wish I could time travel back to the 1930's, 1940's.The women were classy, feminine and the men were true gentlemen, protective and unlike any other generation of men.

at any moment..
"When we say things like "people don't change" it drives scientist crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It's always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It's the way people try not to change that's unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life.
Grey's anatomy always providing me with food for thought. On last nights season premiere, this quote reminded me that change is always happening. Honestly, the word "change" always makes my stomach turn in knots, and what scares me even more is I know that major change in my life is right around the corner.

What does this quote mean to you?
"The most important thing we get from fashion photography is a unique, valuable and extraordinarily detailed view of women, which reveals itself, after anything more than a cursory study, to be multifaceted. We see very clearly how women looked; not just how they dressed, but how they desired to look, and were expected to look, and how they were looked at. We can discern how they behaved, and how they were expected to behave. We can see what was found shocking, and how repetition of that shock lessened its impact. We can see what roles women played and how these roles have changed, trace how long it took for one stereotype to take over from one another, and finally perceive the reality of the women behind their images, even in the most unreal settings." (Polly Devlin, Vogue Book of Fashion Photography, 1919-1979)

my top ten...
I have been the worst ever finishing up my top ten childhood memories. But I am back and we are starting at number 5.
Memory #5 Girl Power was a phrase said often in my house. I was completely obsessed with the Spice Girls, like many girls my age were! And of course we each identified with one spice girl and I was none other than Baby Spice .

i'm ready to fly...
I was a little girl
alone in my little world
who dreamed of a little home for me
I played pretend between the trees
and fed my houseguests bark and leaves
and laughed in my pretty bed of green
I had a dream
that I could fly
from the highest swing
I had a dream
long walks in the dark
through woods grown behind the park
I asked God who I'm supposed to be
the stars smiled down at me
God answered in silent reverie
I said a prayer and fell asleep
I had a dream
that I could fly
from the highest tree
I had a dream
oooo....
now I'm old and feeling gray
I don't know what's left to say
about this life I'm willing to leave
I lived it full, I lived it well
as many tales I live to tell
I'm ready now, I'm ready now
I'm ready now
to fly from the highest wing
I had a dream

Pimm's O'clock
Traveling London this summer I fell in love with the drink PIMM's. It is fresh, chic and delicious. I wish I could find Pimm's here in the US it would be the perfect drink for Labor Day weekend. If your one of the lucky one to find Pimm's here is the recipe for the perfect Pimm's jug.
Take a jug or a glass and fill it with ice.
Mix 1 part PIMM'S No.1*
with 3 parts chilled lemonade,
add some mint and cucumber,
orange,and strawberry
or any fruit you fancy.
happy weekend
Yay for the weekend and for fall weather right around the corner.

"The great moments of your life won’t necessarily be the things you do. They’ll also be the things that happen to you. Now, I’m not saying you can’t take action to affect the outcome of your life. You have to take action. And you will! But never forget, that on any day, you could step out the front door, and your whole life could change forever."
